Qualifications and Application Form
What is a surrogate (i.e. a Gestational Carrier)?
A gestational carrier is a woman who agrees to carry and give birth to a baby for someone else. The baby is not biologically hers; i.e. the embryo is made from the eggs and sperm of the intended parents or donors. The embryo is placed into the surrogate’s uterus (womb) through a medical procedure, and she carries the pregnancy until the baby is born. The gestational carrier is not genetically related to the child.
Are You Qualified?
We are specifically seeking women who meet the following criteria:
Must be a U.S. citizen or valid U.S. green card holder. Residency in Mexico, Canada or the Caribbean is acceptable, but legal status (citizen or green card holder) in the USA must be verifiable.
Must be age 20 to 35.
Must not have a body mass index in excess of 25 kg per square meter
Must have had at least one prior full-term, uncomplicated pregnancy delivered vaginally.
Must be proficient in English, as all candidates undergo a psychological evaluation and must be able to communicate effectively throughout the process.
Repeat surrogates are especially welcomed!
You must be willing to undergo:
Urine and blood drug screening
Preliminary infectious disease screening, including tests for HIV, hepatitis B and C, syphilis, gonorrhea, chlamydia, Zika virus, and West Nile virus
A full medical examination to confirm the absence of diabetes, hypertension/high blood pressure, or any chronic medical conditions that could complicate pregnancy outcomes
A criminal background check including a sex offender registry screen
Compensation and Accommodations for Accepted Applicants
All screenings, testing, and evaluations will be fully paid for by our agency. If a candidate already resides in the U.S.A, that is ideal.
However, we are prepared to cover travel for the surrogate and a companion to and from our approved clinic sites in the USA, where all medical services (including embryo transfer and delivery) will take place.
Approved surrogates will receive between $45,000 to $85,000 USD in compensation, disbursed into a designated bank account via an escrow set up by their attorney.
Payment schedules are governed by contracts between the surrogate (who will be provided with her own independent attorney, paid for by the program) and the intended parents’ legal counsel.
